简介：故事改外编自微软同名游戏。公元2552年，因为地球人口太多，人类不得不开始向星际间的殉众多行星移民，以开发新的空间。在某个太空移民组织突然消失后，派去调查此事的舰队仅有一艘战舰返回了基地。从此，外星种族星盟(Covenant)对人类的侵略就拉开了序幕，星盟的科技远远胜过于地球，逼得地球的军队节节败退，最后人类只好准备前往远方未探测过的宇宙寻求一线生机。在探测过程中，指挥官与他的组员被星盟舰队发现并追上。紧急关头，他们发现了Halo，一个巨大的异形环状世界，那里有着一万公里的直径与可呼吸的气体。在这个巨大的具有生命的圆环里，居住着不可思议的生物、奇特的植物、扭曲的地下巢穴、巨大的山脉，以及数不尽的充满怒气的异形。在飞船被击毁之后，部分的人类组员登陆在Halo的表面上开始了一场与星盟的战争……
